Twofold

Bicycles are the most important vehicles of our future. They enable emission-free and inexpensive mobility, create freedom, support independence, and play an important role in innovative mobility concepts. Not only is the importance of bicycles growing economically and ecologically, it is the transportation method with the highest potential for growth according to the SINUS-Institut.

Twofold aims to improve the transport capabilities of bicycles. Featuring two “modes”, the design can be used as a rear-mounted passenger seat with a dedicated handle, foot rests, and internal storage, or it can be opened to serve as a large, weight-bearing basket.

Twofold is shaping a more sustainable and accessible future for global mobility

For the younger demographic who have to battle with financial limitations, Twofold offers a cost-effective alternative to expensive cargo bikes and/or impractical tandems. According to German traffic law, persons from 16 years of age are allowed to transport another person on their bicycle, provided it is equipped to do so. Additionally, Twofold’s handles and foot rests adhere to motorcycle safety standards.

Twofold’s modular design can be customized in various materials and finishes to fit a large variety of requirements, aesthetics, and lifestyles. As a lightweight, compact, and adaptable solution for all bicycles capable of carrying a rack, Twofold offers a large cargo area, a weatherproof transport compartment, and a seat for pillion transport.

Enabling bicycles to carry two passengers or heavy luggage, Twofold also perfectly addresses public transport’s “last mile problem”, which deals with linking a person’s nearest transportation hub to the final destination of travel in a sustainable way. Twofold is unique, long-lasting and futureproof, and promises to have great impact on sustainable and accessible mobility on a global scale.
